This motor is used in many Panasonic models. Some sites suggest to simply lubricate it. In many case, this will give a second life for a while.

I am having the same problem. I found a motor assembly at the link below..Its better to replace the motor than try and repair it. $60 for the DVD player is pretty good. The motor is easy to get to also.. http://www.partstore.com/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductSKU=4416206&ProductType=PART
