Re[4]: JVC service or questions

Thanks to everyone for the advice. My AV27980, manufactured and purchased in 1999, has exactly the same problem. One night working fine, then the next morning would not turn on. I heard a strange sound, which I thought might be a capacitor charging and discharging (tough to describe on the internet, but kind of like peyouw, peyouw, peyouw, peyouw... )

I'll have my technician friend replace the capacitor that has been mentioned. It certainly seems like JVC has a recurring problem here.
