Re[2]: SONY C:13:01 ERROR

nitefall - 5th Sep 2006 3:53

This is indeed interesting. I left a 512 meg memstick in a third party device for about 2 weeks... i downloaded the pictures and then forgot to put it back in the camera.

Today the memstick was bad ;)

I bent the memory stick as you described and all became well again.

Strange... but there you have it

That good to hear that it worked. Mine worked on and off. I called it a day when I was going on a trip with the camera, so I bought another 1GB stick.

I opened up my old one and found that the metal contacts were pushed back into the stick. It was definitely the 3rd party 6 in 1 flash reader that did the damage. So my only advice is be very careful in future about non-sony readers. I hate to say it again but if you buy once from sony, you are tied to sony for the lifetime of their product.
