Mad Mikey7 - 20th Nov 2006 19:59 Yes, power issues seem to be directly related to the fuse marked F6001. It is the main internal fuse but splits to two others that might be the culprit. I have dismembered mine to find nothing out of the ordinary. I checked the battery and found it to still be good. Leave it to me to look over the obvious... the fuse!! you should be able to find a replacement for under $10 (radio shack or comp usa? ) and put it in yourself if you feel bold and think you can seperate the unit from it's plastic cage. I couldn't tell you why these units seem to be so notorious for shorting their fuses, but I can tell you that I probably overwhelmed mine when I attempted to fuse a mic jack on the av/s-video circuit board...... Won't try that again. Good luck everybody

I saw the fuse, looked ok, but it was so tiny, it didn't look possible to replace. Am I missing something??

That's the one, I just ordered one off of a site, cost me $20 w/ shipping included and put it in mine. It does take some skill to solder such a small fuse but if you drop some super glue on top of the old one, you can have it stay in place while you solder the ends to the already present, dead, fuse's ends, follow me? I would test that little guy with a battery tester and make sure that the fuse is blown (circuit is open and reading infinity). Let me know if you have any further problems or if you need that site b/c I had problems finding the part number (can't be located with the F6001).
