Re[3]: Error Codes Assistance

Rick Boumans Posted Sep 15, 2006, in response to:PK

I've got the DVP NS930 dvd player. I have just burned a dvd and at the computer it works perfectly but when I put the dvd in my dvd player then the DVD doesn't start. When I want to start the disc, then it displays error C:13:70 Dirty disc. Can somebody help me? Many thanks, Rick

Hi, I've got a Sony DVP-NS78H with the same error. I've some old Imation, HP and Sony DVD+RW disks what works perfectly on the player. I tried to use some new disks (Sony, Verbatim, Maxell, TDK, etc.) all of them DVD+RW. Recently I bought (by accident) a pack of Verbatim DVD-RW disks. This type works perfectly on the payer. Regards, Zoltán

Rick, I've had the same problem with my Sony DVD player too. I bought brand new DVD+RW discs and, after recording TV programs from the computer to disc, would try to play them in the Sony only to get the error message. What I did then was to take the disc back to my computer, open the "computer" desktop icon and select the drive the DVD was in. I would then right click on the drive and select "Format". This would format the DVD disc. I would then rerecord my TV program on the disc, take it to the Sony player and it would work fine after that. I think the trick is to FORMAT the DVDs before you record anything on them. So far I have done this to 3 new discs with no problems with the error codes anymore. Hope this helps. BR

hello, I am having exactly the same problem on my Sony DVD reader DVP-NS355. I tried different SW for burning with no result and now I dont know if the problem is with the DVD reader or with burner (that's a Sony too..) If anybody found a solution to this I would really be grateful for any good suggestion. thanks roberto
