Re[4]: Convergence problems on AV-48WP30

Barry Posted Nov 13, 2006, in response to:Eric

I am assuming I have the same problem but maybe a little worse. I have the red and blue crosses which line up fine, I now have green ones the are in an arc across the top and bottom of the picture area. There is no green adjustment so I assume it is chio related. The TV actually did this in the middle of watching a show. Any help would be appreciated.

You didn't post an e-mail address so I can't send you anything, but read the following. Check/replace IC804 and IC805 on the Convergence PWB. It is wise to upgrade to two STK392-150. They will run a lot cooler than the STK392-110's presently installed. Be sure to replace them both. Also, check the 6 one watt yoke return resistors. If you don't have an ohmmeter at least check for dark colored bands on the resistor's body. These resistors have been known to open or increase in value. Remember that the convergence pwb is removed from the front of the set. Also, the ribbon cable that runs from the convergence pwb to the convergence osd pwb is removed from the convergence osd pwb NOT the convergence pwb. It is soldered onto the convergence pwb and trying to forcefully remove it will cause you much grief. Also, do not operate your TV with the rear cover removed. There is a bulletin from JVC about this. Good Luck, Eric
