Re: Technics F61 problem

Klaus Posted Dec 02, 2006, in response to:Hromy

I just replaced the STK470-090 voltage regulator chip in a Panasonic SA-AK600 with one I got from Best Buy per this site. The F61 error is gone but the heat sink gets way too hot after a few minutes of operation and the unit automatically turns on when I plug it in. Otherwise it seems to work fine. I advise anyone doing this repair to keep the lid off and power it up to check the temp of the STK470 heat sink before buttoning it up.

I noticed that quite a few people are having the same problems with their systems. I would like to know what the error message F61 is and what I can do about it.
