Re[4]: JVC GRD90U recorder

Mad Mikey7 Posted Dec 15, 2006, in response to:Alan Federman

That's the one, I just ordered one off of a site, cost me $20 w/ shipping included and put it in mine. It does take some skill to solder such a small fuse but if you drop some super glue on top of the old one, you can have it stay in place while you solder the ends to the already present, dead, fuse's ends, follow me? I would test that little guy with a battery tester and make sure that the fuse is blown (circuit is open and reading infinity). Let me know if you have any further problems or if you need that site b/c I had problems finding the part number (can't be located with the F6001). mike

Any design that uses a fuse soldered to a board is not one that I plan to own or continue to use. I experimented to see if shorting the fuse would let the camera work, but it didn't, so the hell with it. You have the skill and talent to dissassemble and fix the camera, Which probably took two hours of your time. A blown fuse should not be a $300 dollar repair. I will never, never uses a JVC product again Thanks.
