Re: Error Codes Assistance

I have a Sony dcr-trv140 that just gave me an error message of C31:23 with the flashing "eject" sign and a constant beeping. Disconnected the battery, changed the tape out for another one - nothing has worked. When the tape is removed no message occurs when the power is on.

Read on the Internet to wack the camcorder with the palm of my hand and did so just below the tape door of the camcorder on the padded strap - that didn't work and then the error message C:31:42 came up!

The heads have never been cleaned on this machine,.

Ideas?
