Alright, This might be the true fix. First it doesnt like real cold temps and will cause the problem. Second, I took it completely apart inlcluding the internal transmission and from what I could find, it looks like the Optical View Finder causes the jam. It just rubs on the lens and follows a track for magnification. I broke it off on purpose and have not received the error unless I put it in the freezer (for testing of course)....and it was still few and far between for the error when frozen. I also greased it which I dont recommend...I even tried to wipe as much as I could of. I think this only causes more problems due to it thickens when cold. So if you dont use the optical view finder and are comfortable taking it apart, I think this will help. note: the optical view finder does not effect the lcd display.
