My sony FD90 says no disk after one is inserted. I can bump the camera on the top and this will often fix the problem. Is there an adjustment I can make to eliminate the problem. I have taken the camera apart but don't know what to do.

Hi Steve I had the same problem. Its a dry solder inside the camera which effects the irus. Which lets in too much light or in your case not enough. You will have to take it in to get fixed. Any other questions just email me back. Shayne

    • Re: Re: SONY C:13:01 ERROR - 7th Jul 2004 0:45
Please send me the same info. (Buying a floppy drive), I guess its repairable. FD 85, C:13:01 Error. Does it only use floppy or has other alternatives or use? I will appreciate. Thank you. Jimmy - Puerto Rico, Commonwealth (US)

Sony Mavica Model No. MVC-FD-100 now display DRIVE ERROR message along with several short vibrating rattles then nothing. I may well have another boat anchor if the Memory Stick function does work when I try a new Memory Stick.

The C:xx series of errors are supposedly user accessible such as format errors. The C:32 errors supposedly relate to bad disks, but I\'ve found to my horror that it also relates to broken ribbons betwixt drive and internal board. If you\'re lucky something\'s loose rather than broken.

I get the same message. Can it be fixed or is it junk?

I also ran into the same problem. I got a new CD and it seemed in my case that it was a bad CD. the new CD worked fine. Now I'm stuck with a bad CD with tons of pictures on in that I can't get to..

Well, it seems I'm having the same C:13:01 problem. I'm just curious on how to reformat the floppy disk. Any advice will do on how to fix it.

I've got the error too. but use format command can fix the problem.
Use this command on W2K machine:
    1. Open DOS command prompt on w2k or press start->run and input "cmd"
    2. type format /FS:FAT /A:4096
Please note that the /A option is very important.

    Hello everybody!
I've got a DSC-P9 camera, and I've just bought a 256MB MagicGate Memroy Stick Pro... Well, it doesn't work! The camera says: "C:13:01 - MEMORY STICK ERROR". I tried to format it by the "Set Up", but it doesn't work.
Since nobody here has my same camera and I cannot find a list of compatibility among the camera and the Memory Stick, please help me! Even the PC doesn't recognize the Stick...
I don't know what to do!
    Please lend me a hand...
    Thanks,
    Giazzopazzo

I have just bought the same memory card as you from ebay. I have the Sony dsc-p10 and now have this error. I have not had any problems with my other 32mb memory sticks. I have had a look on the page of the item that I have bought and your camera isn't listed. If you go on to www.ebay.co.uk and search for the item number 3088144531 you can see a list of cameras this memory card is suitable for (so the seller reckons anyway) Hope this helps

Whats up man the sony pro memory is not compatible. You have to get a 256 memory stick without the "pro" office max had a deal for 37 bucks last week. Check it out. Cheers

After having formatted the memory stick with the cardreader on my laptop which runs on winxp I tried to use the stick in my sony dsc-p5 but all I got was the C:13:01 error message. So I tried to format it again but eith FAT instead of FAT32 which is the regular format on winxp. Now the disc adapter which I use on my desctop to read the memory sticks worked again with the stickt, my camara still gave me the message of not being able to read the stick so I removed the stick, got into the setup mode, reinserted the stick and formatted it with the camara. This worked, I hope this can help you.

Sebastian, I was getting the same error message on my old Cyber-Shot and ready to pitch the camera & the damn memory stick in the trash. I tried your solution and it now works! Thank you so much for posting! BTW, the people I spoke to at Sony were NO help at all with their tech-support. The only thing I was told was that I fried the stick while transferring a bunch of files to my Mac when the batteries died... that's all they could offer. Thanks again for your help... Sony should hire you!

I have got the same error too and really appreciate your posting. Else the memory stick would have been in trash can by now. Thanks!
