Re: JVC service or questions

Have GR-DX77 Digital Camcorder. When I turned it on this AM the screen is black and it teh LCD message states "LENS CAP" even though it is dangling from it's keeper and not in position. There is not a lack of lighting and when I tried to record anyway only sound is produced. Any ideas?
