Re[2]: Convergence problem with JVC AV-48WP74 tv

Jemmy Posted May 07, 2007, in response to:Dwight

I just took out my convergence board out because my green looked squished from the top, no reset or service menu will fix it. So I'll probably visit one of those service centers and see whether they can replace the IC for me. I don't have much confidence in my ability to solder stuff. Once you opened the front panel, it's pretty easy to see the board itself. tried to post the pictures, but the msg is blocked.

I have this tv with the same problem. I found that there is a cooling/lens fluid between the lamp and projector lens. For whatever reason a leak, extreme temp. changes an air pocket will form in place of the fluid loss and dip the grid of whichever lamp it may be in my case red. I found the fluid online but ended taking some from another TV that was beyond repair, good luck. db
