Not sure if you still check this or not, but interested in the fix for this. On the 50aa, you just have to open it up and disconnect a wire and then reconnect which hard resets it. Is the fix for this similar?

i have a JVC digital video camera, model number GR-D53AA. I works great until i go to record, then it tells me that the lens cap is on...help.... my daughters formal is tomorrow and i need my camera to work..

I like most people who have commented here, am experiencing the problem with the camera stating that the lens cap is on, when it isn't. This was not a degenerative problem, just went to use it yesterday and nothing but a blank screen. All other features (playback ect) are working perfectly. Any assistance to rectify this problem would be greatly appreciated
