Dear Adams I was about to move to Sony Workshop for getting my DCR-TRV480E but saw youe advice of smacking the camera. It sounded absurd at first instance but it really worked. Thanks for you extensive knowledge on smacking which generally doesn't work at most of the instances.

It worked for me. I'd problems with tape not inserting fully. Tapping on the side worked.
