This is so funny. I got the error 61 and the camera was basically dead. I could not do anything as it was locked up (but it would turn on). Anyway, I took it to a camera shop. I was told that SONY would charge more to repair it than what a new camera would cost. Then I Googled "Sony Cyber Shot error 61" and found this forum that told me to take the batteries out and when I turned it back on to bang it against my knee. IT WORKED! Ha.
