I have no idea why Sony continues to ignore this issue. I have received responses from around the world saying that my 'Quick Fix' has solved someone's problem, so there are plenty of malfunctioning Sony DSC-S40s.

Yes, I know what you mean about those back to school pics when the children are just starting to attend school! (Our oldest daughter is in grad school, our son just 'went back to school', he is a Senior at Pitt and our baby, aka the Princess of Darkness, will be going back next week as a high school sophomore.) Boy, time does fly!
