What capacitor are you talking about. I am having the same problem that it will not turn on and the fuse looks ok.

I did this a long time ago and I do not have the specifics on the capacitor any more. But I got the exact info from the within the thread of the forum topic, so if you search and read thru the history of the forum thread you should find it. I do remember it is a large cylindrical cap., navy blue (or maybe black?) with white stripe, standing verticle approximately in the center of the circuit board pretty much all by itself. You might be able to see damage to it if the cap/ is bulging or scorched. I don;t recall the size but it was given in the forum postings and I found it easily at Radio Shack. IF you see such a cap. in the center of the board, but you can;t find the info in the forum, you could get the size number off of the cap., go buy one, and replace it and see if that is it. It will come with long leads with will have to be clipped. Also it may come with axial leads instead of end leads so you may have to bend them to fit in the board holes. Sorry this is all I remember. Look thru the forum history it should be

OK a re-read the forum. It was a 1000uF, 35 V capictor. IT is just about right in the middle of the circuit board, standing verticle, a large cylindrical capacitor, can;t miss it. Replace with a 1000uF, 50V cap.

Cap. is marked C

Capacitor is marked C926 on the circuit board.

I replaced it and never fixed the problem. I also replaced the fuse. We have a bad lightening storm and I think it was a power surge that got it. Is there anything else that may be the problem that would be fairly easy to fix.

Sorry, I don;t know any more about the TV as far as potential problems. The fix for the capacitor just happen to match my problem and I was able to follow those instructions, but I don;t really have any other knowledge of it. If you had a lightening surge it could be anything on the whole board and you might be screwed.
