i need help

hey i have the cd-dvd500 an i cant get my radio to stay on, and there's a little red light blinking on and off next to where it says timer. So when i turn on the radio its stays on for about 2 seconds and turns right back off and man i love this radio i don't want to throw it out and i like working on electronics with my own hands but this thing is probably over my head so im turning to you. If you have any info or if there's anything that i can do please just let me know, my e-mail's there and i will be waiting on your response.
