SONY HANDYCAM DCR-HC38 PROBLEM

Tape door won't close. Re-aatach Power source message C:32:11

I have a Sony Handycam model DCR-HC38. It's only 9 months old and has been barely used. When I went to change the tape, everything worked fine ejecting the tape, but I can't get it to close with (or without) a new tape. I tried reinserting the old tape with no luck. I get a message to "re-attach the power source" now when I turn it on. I've replaced the battery with no luck. I've tried running it on just the power cord with no luck. I've tried the reset button with no luck. There is an error message flashing in the upper right corner (C:32:11). Any guidance or suggestions?

  did you find a resolution for problem 32.11....i have the same problem in that the tape door will not close.
