Re: LETS FILE A COMPLAINT AGAINST SONY

Andre Posted Mar 10, 2009, in response to:Luis

I recently bought a 40" Sony Bravia W series LCD TV. Within minutes of switching it on I noticed that a large bright patch on the upper left side of the screen. This was especially obvious during dark scenes and completely distracting. After a month i took it back and they replaced the tv with a new one (very helpful and kind salesman)Exactly the same problem with the new set. I emailed SONY three times regarding this problem. They did not respond a single time to my enquiry. this tv costs $1500! Surely one does not expect such obvious flaws within a few hours. I reduced the backlight. I changed the power save mode. I used light sensor. Nothing worked - the patch remains stubbornly visible. Otherwise the TV is spectacular. But the white backlight patch spoils the entire image and its noticeable to anyone. I cant even show off my tv. Sony should take responsibility for their products and not use the world as lab rats to try their new technology on, unless its been tried and tested. Customer service sux big time!
