Re: JVC model GR-DVL725u

Well the possible reason that you haven't been successful in getting a reply is because this is a problem "very" frequently experienced by quite a number of people and which although in theory should have a simple straightforward answer unfortunately does "not" in many cases, as so many variables can be involved. I you have followed the rule of having everything coupled up "before" switching on and then switch the camcorder on last, or if everything is already coupled up and switched on try switching the camcorder "OFF", wait about 10 secs then, "ON" again and its still not recognised then thats where things get difficult, as one reason for the failure could be that the PC's firewire capture card driver is not compatible with this particular camcorder or even that the "capture" facility of the editing software being used isn't suitable either. Its these type of problems which necessitate lengthy two way communications that makes companies like JVC or Microsoft shy away, as each of them know that the problem could well be caused by the other parties equipment and something which is not easy to prove without being on site with a second camcorder to hand, or/and a second PC, as in many cases this is the only way of verifying where a problem originates.
