We purchased a Sony Trinitron 36 inch screen about 5 years ago. Now when we turn it on it cuts right back off. During a chat room with Sony they told me to contact a repair person. I can't believe Sony, who is supposed to be reputable, does not care more about its products. At least after reading your problems I am not along. Still does fix the problem though! There is a website called "RipOffReport.com" that I am going to place a note on. I have heard this site is effective. I will find out. Sad thing is my husband is home bound and the TV is his "lifeline" during the day. We paid too much for this TV and cannot affort another one or get this fix. We bought it in good faith thought it would last many more years. Kind of like the old RCA's when I was growing up. It is a sad sad world we live in when business only want the buck.
