Re: JVC service or questions

I bought a JVC HD-52G887 off of craigslist. It worked fine for about the first two months, but the last month or so it has started turning on and off by itself on a frequent basis. It will come on for five minutes, then turn off, and take two minutes to finally allow me to turn it back on. However, this is only part of the time. Some days it will stay on for consecutive hours at a time. About a week ago, the television said I needed to get a new lamp. However, I'm not sure this alone will fix the situation. Do I need to call a repairguy or is it something I can fix on my own?
