Re: JVC service or questions

I have an JVC HD-52G887 television. About a month ago, it began turning off by itself. Some days the television will stay on for hours on end without a hitch. Others, it will turn off on its own every five minutes. The other day the television said that I needed to replace the lamp. Will this fix the situation or is it something more? And can I fix it or will I need a repairman?
