Galen - 24th Dec 2004 0:32 Sony ccd-tr84 handycam. Door mechanism will not close properly. If door closes, the screen just shows eject symbol. Sony wants $182. to repair. I have found the door assembly for $35.00. Does anyone have a schematic or exploded diagram of this area, I will take any help. Is this camcorder worth fixing, or should I just spend the money on a new one.

My Sony CCD-TR84 door mechanism will not close properly either. My screen shows eject symbol. I haven't contacted Sony yet but I'm sure they'd love to charge me $182 also. Have you had any luck repairing your camcorder. I've thought about biting the bullet and purchasing a new one.
