Hello! I just got back from the beach where I somehow broke my LCD screen for my Sony DSC-T1. I am in college and looking for an affordable way to fix it and fast. I am very good at doing things myself so I was wondering if you could let me know how much and how fast I could get a screen? As well as letting me know how hard it would be for an individual to replace? Thank You, Brandon

I bought a surplus Sony ccd v5000 from my employer and found that it has some problems. I am an electrical engineer, former technician, and amateur radio operator so I have a good background in electronic equipment. I have also done some vcr repair over the years so I would like to try to fix it myself. When I select VTR on the switch, the drum starts spinning but the fingers do not pull the tape down around the drum. I haven't gone beyond that point yet, but I think that maybe it is a broken belt. If so, where can I get a replacement belt? And if I am wrong, what else could it be? The second problem is that when I switch it to camera, I get a dark viewer screen with just zeros for the time and a flashing up-arrow symbol on the lcd screen. None of the controls have any effect. The camera is in mint physical condition and was very gently used but it has been sitting idle for several years. I got some very expensive accessories with it that would make the price very reasonable even without the camera but I sure would like to get it in working condition. If dealer repair would not be too expensive, I would even go that route but the "tinkerer" in me would like to fix it myself.
