I have an Nutone Scovill Solid state music intercom system. Model IMA-406. The radio on the system seems to have a short in it. Sometime it will work and sometimes I have to shake the AM/FM selector button to get the radio to work. Is there a replacement unit unit that will work?

jim - 17th Feb 2005 2:48 Hi:
I just had the same problem with my Intercom system / what i did was get 4 seperate caps at radio shack as they are all common ground. Just make sure you install the caps in the correct location as it is marked on the outside of the capicator. and make sure you connect the grounds to all 4 post on the circuit board. I installed the caps upright in the same location as the can capicator was in. also there was another cap bad the value of it was 100mfd/15v its a single cap located close to the multi can capicator noted above.
hope this works out for you
have a good one

Tina Walden - 25th Jan 2005 15:16 I have an old IM-2003 NuTone Radio-Intercom system. I am having no problems with it or it's speakers but I would like to replace the main unit because it is looking old. Are there any replacement face plates available for it or can I purchase a new master station while leaving the speakers as they are? Thank you for your help and suggestions, Tina Walden

Lauri Lampson - 18th Feb 2005 18:15 Are you interested in selling your old main system? We are remodeling a house that has all of the speakers but the main unit is gone. Would rather have a vintage one than a new one? If so, can you send a photo of it?
Thanks
Lauri
