  Hello, I have a system (approx. early 80's)which the chime quit working. The insruction sheet that I found says it is a: NUTONE 3-Station Door - Answering Intercom Model : IK-25
  What is confusing is, when I pulled the outside housing, it says Nutone Scovill (it is brown with Goldtone area where lighted door bell pushbutton is and on the inside close to the bell button it has a raised "Model"
  IS 67
  showing. I need the replacement speaker and possibly the 2 blue capacitors that appear to be tied in series. I pulled the button for chime & the bulb and when I jump the two wires, I still get nothing as far as the chime working. Any ideas? The speaker for outside says B-36076 and 16 ohm 1 W Korea. This is on the speaker magnet. Guess the first question would be.. the burnt out or lack of bulb should not affect the chime? I have power at the transformer, but none at the 2 wires connecting to the bell push button.Any input would be appreciated before I change out the existing system. Thank you.. Dennis

    Dear Dennis: I have the same problem. I want to buy two speakers with the model number of B-36076 16 ohm 1w Korea in New York area. I can change them by myself. If you have any other way to solve the problem (such as fix the speakers), please let me know. Thank you.

  My Nutone intercom was installed in 1986. I am in need of a new front doorbell unit and an outside speaker. Can anyone tell me where to go in Dallas/Fort Worth for help?

  I have a nutone scovill system in a condominium complex and I think I could use a new base station and possiby a few new extension devices. Not of the units seem able to hear what is going on on the street side. It is a model IMA516. can you help me? Victor Psoras

  hi, I have a IM3003 model, I had a power surge and it quite working, i put a new transformer in it, but no luck, it lights up but no sound. any ideas appreciated. thanks

  I have sound at the base unit , but no sound at speakers.
  This a old tube model, came with the house.
  What can I try ?

    The 2542 Nutone is a stereo radio-intercom. It can be updated with the Nutone IM-4406 or the M&S DMC3-4 system. Google "2542 nutone update" to find a site that has all of the old intercom systems with their equivilant updates.

    Hi Joyce, I just came aceoss your Nutone problem and checked my Nutone manual file. The part that you're looking for is a multi-section capactor as follows: 30Mfd @ 35V, 300MFD @ 30V, 300MFD @ 50V. Getting an exact replacement would be difficult, but you can use three seperate capactors which will work just as well. Regards, John

      John, From your manual can you outline how you'd suggest wiring the individual capacitors to replace this combo capacitor? What pin/slots would be spanned by what/which capacitor. Trying to revive a Nutone 2090 which has the very same capacitor, no audio, and a huge amount of heat coming from a couple of the resistors right around that capacitor. Thanks in advance.
