I have an older model camcorder JVC GR-DVM1 We recently started getting the error code E03 and the picture would freeze and sometimes the tape would be pulled out when we removed the cassette. I have tried changing the tape and with a new tape it seems to work ok until we rewind and try to add on. especially if it has sat for a time. Any suggestions?? I'm reluctant to get rid of it but wonder if the cost of fixing it is cost effective as opposed to buying a new one...This is a solid unit and the new ones seem so lightweight and "cheap".
