Same here, have GR-sxm20u that hasent had 2hours of tape recorded, no image, lens cap message blinks, focus indicators blink, records sound, plays back other tapes, and one year old, happened while unit was off. I made recording right after thanksgiving and all was ok but it didnt work on X-mas morning(grand daughters first x-mas, Kinda pissed). some sort of internal clock in side to make you spend repair mony right after warrenty expires?? Not a happy camper!!

    I have the same problem of when recording the screen says the lens cover is on, have you got any answers to what the problem is?

      No, I sure haven't. I sent an e-mail to the JVC Company and that was a couple weeks ago, they said it would take about 7 days for a reply. I have found that, that is a common problem. It looks like someone would know something. I had only used my camera for less than 15 minutes. I am very disgusted with this product. If I hear anything I will let you know. Jean

    I have a jvc-gr70u that I bought about one year ago. Yesterday I go to record my daughter and there is no picture, just the focus code and the lens cap message. It will play back tapes with no problem. Does anyone know if this can be fixed?
