Sony Trinitron TVs

anonymous Posted Dec 31, 2004

"The Petition":

My family has a Sony Trinitron TV (Model Number KV-35V36) that was purchased in 1998. It too, like so many other of these TVs suddenly turned off and died. Over the years, we have bought many Sony products and have had little problems. However, this television "epidemic" is a major issue and one that must be dealt with and solved. Therefore, I propose this; ANYONE WHO HAS/HAD A PROBLEM WITH A SONY TRINITION TV, PLEASE POST YOUR NAME, MODEL AND SERIAL NUMBER ON THIS WEBSITE, WHERE I WILL PLACE THEM ON A PETITION TO BE E-MAILED/MAILED TO SONY. They might be able to ignore one of us, but they can't and WILL NOT ignore all of us. -Thank you

Sony Trinitron Color TV Model KV-35V42 Serial# 9004939 Manufactured September 1999. I bought new-in-box @ Circuit City in Spring 2000. All of sudden today- No picture on any tv mode. Still sounds good though. How can I get back the picture? I notice the STANDBY/TIMER light indicator keeps blinking. Please help since I can't yet afford to upgrade my (Direct TV) television!

Well....Add another dead Sony KV-35V36 to this list. Mine, Serial Number 9023260 was purcased in late 1997, so at least I got almost 12 years out of it. After reading the other posts - won't waste any time trying to get it repaired.

We have a Sony Trintron KV-32HS500 that you could add to that petition. I contacted sony and told them it is unacceptable to have me pay for a factory defect problem.

Yes, mine died too. KV 32S10 S.N. 7092411 1994. Made by Sony electronics, San Diego, California, USA My local tech said first it was the power supply, then said it is the flyback. He was told that Sony doesn't make such parts anymore for that model!

Re: Sony FD Trinitron Wega KV-36XBR250 8 years old. Power wouldn't come on. Results: TV repairman fixed power supply area. Cost: $245 (non Sony certified repairman). Well worth it! Will let you know if it breaks again.

my Sony trinitron model kv35v36 won't turn on. One day it is working, next day it won't turn on. What are your next steps with Sony. They need to be held accountable.
