Re: Error Codes Assistance

I need assistance with my 1997 Audi A8. It has the six disc trunk mounted cd changer with a cartridge that comes out for loading cds. the system was working fine until i tried to remove the cartridge from the cd changer while there was one still in the play mechanism. I had forgotten that the power was on and the cd was loaded. The code "CD00ER" showed up on the radio's screen and the cartridge would not want to come out of the changer. It was like the cd system went into a "safe mode". I removed the cartridge manually from the changer and also removed the cd that was in the cd player, but the same error code appears. I even removed and re-attached the battery and reset the radio code but the cd still shows the error message. The radio and cassette work fine. The cd player was working just fine before this and I was very careful in removing the cd that was in the cd player. Could you offer any assistance?

  I have the same problem with my cd changer in my 1997 Audi A8. Did you ever resolve the issue with yours?
