Hi Stacy, We recently (a little over a year ago) bought a JVC GR-D72U. We have used it occasionally and just the other day we get a black screen with an error message "lens cap" (of course the cap is not on the camera. Are you familiar with this error message? Thanks and regards from NY, Jennifer

    I have the same error message " lens cap needs to be removed" and of course it is not on. I have been told also that it will cost $300 to repiar. I do believe that if this is a chip problem then JVC should repair at no cost. My GRd72u is only 2 years old. Walton Sohrt 281 630 2636 Houston, Texas

    I've got exactly the same problem! I was filming when the message came on. Our camera is 1 yr old as well. Is this a manufacturing problem?
