Re: JVC service or questions

shabker - 18th Sep 2005 2:29

Hi,

I have a JVC GR-D33US camcorder. Worked fine for a year. Now it says that the LENS CAP is on even though it is not. Sometimes it just comes back on. Can you help me troubleshoot this?

Thanks

- SB

I also have the same problem with my gr-d33u. I have the lens cap error also. Was told it is a loose CCD sensor that causes that error.

I own a GR-D90U mini DV product for about close to three years. I rarely used this product and have shot footage on rare occassions. However, it was not then when I got involved with video editing I noticed the same exact Len's Cap error msg. I would leave the camera on auto mode for about 10 minutes and the viewfinder will some how reset itself. After turning the camera off, then, turning it back on, i'll get the same exact Len's Cap error msg. I tried to investigate the problem online and it turns out that everybody has this same headache with NO ANSWER. www.JVC.com referred me to a moms and pops repair shop where I would have to spend a set up a $35 service fee! How ridiculous is this? I'm sure these repair shops no how to solve this problem. Moms and Pops are just out there to make money.

You say mom and pops are just out to make money. HA HA when have you ever done anything for free. You have to pay to get your car service and I bet would say the same thing. People are doing what they do for money and you are no different. Get a life.
