Davy Posted Oct 17, 2005, in response to:Alex
Sony does provide Level3 manuals and I have many level3 manuals of sony camcorders . Why should a person throws a camcorder which was just purchased just a couple of weeks ago from open market without warranty due to minor problems???

If it breaks after 2 weeks, it should be covered by warranty and Panasonic will provide parts for free assuming you are ASC.
And what is your definition of market or open market?
Is it flea market?
I guess some defective product can get there since it's not distributed through normal sales channels.
Ever heard of chinese water product?
Same thing with refurbished product.
So, your warning should be really to buy from official source only.
Talking about Sony, if you have level 3 manuals, it doesn't mean that Sony distributes them freely to ASC's, they are for very few factory service centers only.
Most of ASC's are supposed to work with level 2 manuals.
