I have a panasonic VHS/DVD Player witch give me error code F498.
I cant even open the CD drive.
I am wondering if you can help me to solve this problem

  Hi i've got error code f498 and cannot evan open dvd draw and error f499 which won't play dvd 's i have a panasonic dvd rv32 any info on this

    gosh I really was getting so angry at thos F498 thing and althoguh I don't have an answer I have found numerous times that if you leave it for a while as in days or weeks then it just works again coming up with the easysetup. when it does happen I don't know if it helps but i press all the buttons on the remote and the DVD player itself so that could be the answer. Finally I turn it on and off lots and lots of times and it does come on eventually. If worst comes to worse then you can't watch a movie for a while but i promise my DVD player is yonks old and the F498 has happened many a time and its working now!!

    Hello fellow F498 Panasonic sufferers. It would appear that this fault can no longer be repaired. My tame electronics guru tells me that this is another example of a 'common' fault that the manufacturers deny any knowledge of. I paid a lot of money for this combi and have had no real use from it. Panasonic are no help. I now no longer buy Panasonic (I used to buy nothing else!), and tell all my friends and relatives about this experience. That's a little bit less profit for Panasonic, perhaps next time they will recall faulty goods.
