Error Code C:31:22

I was having the same C:31:22 error code on my Sony Handycam TRV460. Could not get past the error message. Today I found a site that suggested slapping the tape side of the camera. IT WORKED!!! Apparently this is a common problem with Sony camcorders and the slapping seams to knock something back into place. Good luck to all of you out there.... and happy slapping!

  I read your comment and thought , how stupid, so i slapped it any way, and it worked! Thank you.I use this camera just to play back movies, and it hasnt worked for years.
