I have a JVC Digital Video Camera....have owned it less than three years. Modedl GR-D90u. Every time I turn it on after a few minutes the screen displays something like Precipitation detected. After it set for several days I can use it but only for a few minutes. Since I have many Mini DV cassettes I would like to copy to DVD's or to my computer this is very discouraging. What can you tell me. I have left the camera out of the case with the tape area open for several hours thinking the moisture would disipate...but no luck. Please tell me what I can do.

    Contact JVC for service. Ask if they can check the sensor at the back of the tape mechanism. That repair should be about 1 hour to 1.5 hours of labor to remove and replace the part. I am not sure what the part cost is but see if they can help you buy discounting it. It never hurts to ask.
