I have a jvc gr-d30u that when powered up has no display. We can not see images through the view finder either. There is a lans cap notification when first powered up bue we have removed the cap and still get the message. All menu screens seem to work but we cannot use the lcd or viewfinder to record video.
Is it broken or are we doing something wrong?

    I don't believe that you are doing anything wrong. My camera, same model, has the same exact problem. One day I was filming my son at his football game and the next, my screen went black. I can here old recordings, but I have not picture. I also, keep getting the lens cap promt, although it is not on the lens. Any solutions?
