I have a jvc gr-d30u that when powered up has no display. We can not see images through the view finder either. There is a lans cap notification when first powered up bue we have removed the cap and still get the message. All menu screens seem to work but we cannot use the lcd or viewfinder to record video.
Is it broken or are we doing something wrong?
    Lee

I don't believe that you are doing anything wrong. My camera, same model, has the same exact problem. One day I was filming my son at his football game and the next, my screen went black. I can here old recordings, but I have not picture. I also, keep getting the lens cap promt, although it is not on the lens. Any solutions? Thanks gbrownjo

    Model GR-D30U

LCD screen keeps saying "Condensation, Operation Paused" and won't play or record. It started sporadically, but now it is constantly on.

I have a JVC camcorder that has turned up an error code (of course its just when I want to take it on a trip too!). It displays "E03 unit in safeguard mode please remove and reinsert tape". Needless to say, reinserting the tape doesn't solve the problem. When I remove the tape and turn the unit on without a tape, it gives me "E06 unit in safeguard mode please remove and reinsert battery" instead. Can anyone help me with what could be wrong with my camcorder?

This happened to me and I called JVC support and they said that there was an internal problem that I could do nothing about. They located an audiosystems repair shop nearest me and told me to go there to get it fixed. They said that if my purchase date was less than a year ago they would cover the costs.

It seems as though you have a JVC model HX-D7. Me too and it is doing the agonizing "protect" display. It seems to be a common problem w/ this model and I am not about to pay for JVC's faulty design. If you know what the repair shop fixed, I would be pleased to find out. Irritated owner Jacob

Sorry, I posted this in the wrong area earlier. Hope this is the right spot. Hello, I have a nine-year-old JVC 32" TV, model AV-32720. A week ago the video developed a case of shaky image and horizontal black lines on all video inputs and channels. Sometimes it fixes itself and snaps back into crystal clarity; other times it goes forever, sort of bouncing (but not rolling) up and down. Turning the TV off and on doesn't help, but a VERY gentle tap on the side of the case (either side, middle/top/bottom) can often stabilize the image back into perfect shape. Initial turn-on of the set usually presents a good image. Five minutes or less presents the vertical shakes, so I'll tap and restore the image. A few cycles of that -- maybe 10 minutes into it -- generally stabilizes the image "permenantly" for that viewing until I shut it off again. I yanked off the back and blew some of the collected dust out of the guts. Putting it back together resulted in a stable image for several days. Now we're back again to the liney-shakey-shakes and me playing gentle bongo on the TV. Any ideas at all? Do you think this is repairable? I'd love to keep the set. It's been great.
