fault with jvc gr-df420ek camcorder

hi there i have a jvc gr-df420ek camcorder the message on the screen that i am getting is remove lense cap but the lense cap is not on and i am not getting any on the camera when i try to record just blue screen the please help is it a internal fault or can the camera be reset i hope to hear from you soon thankyou

  JVC advise that this is known problem on a number of their camcorders. see www.jvc.com....support centre...FAQ,s...camcorder. It is a software problem and they are willing to fix it free of charge, in or out of warranty providing you have a proof of purchase. If you have thrown thrown your proff of purchase like me, after 18 months, they require £220 to fix the known product fault.
