Re: JVC service or questions

I have a JVC 27" Tv, Model: AV 27920
Manufacture Date Nov 1998

Last night, turned the TV off, went to bed.

This morning, when I turn the tv on, it makes that high pitch turning on sound, but no image comes up, then a few seconds later, it "shuts off", and the red LED starts semi bright blinking. pushing the power button does nothing at this point.

Also, for the last few months, the very top of the tv was being reflect back town along the top of the screen.. making the top of the image slightly distorted.. and i think it has been getting worse..

please advise,

(should i attempt that capacitor replacement as described by other customers?)
