Re[2]: JVC error codes assistance

The camcorder says that the lens cap is on when it isn't and at the bottom of the screen flashing there is what looks a portrait icon with back and forward triangles to the right and then what looks like a mountain. Any ideas? I can view tapes I just can't record.

  I can't believe I just read this post. This is EXACTLY what started happening to our camera on 12/10!! We can't record and it has the same symbol and lens cap warning. Any suggestions???

    I called JVC's support number. Since it is a defective part they will fix it for free. You have until 10/2007 to send it in.
