You now how so often you can get this useless information online? Well this is not one of those times. I would like to thank whoever originally submitted this technique as it has certainly worked yet again!!

  Yep - mine died, got the error code. Read this slapping stuff, gave it a slap... worked on the 3rd attempt when I REALLY slapped it. Cheers all!!!

    on my handycam sony video 8xr I am getting error message c 31 40 . does anyone knows whot that is and how to fix this .. thank you
