Re: JVC service or questions

Dan Naylor Posted Jun 08, 2007, in response to:Stacy Sample

jvc gr-90u is the model of my cam corder. I have not used it all that much and have left it on the charger for a while. When I went to use it the display says lens cap on. It has done this once before but then started to operate again. Now it is doing it again and I can not get it to work. I do not know where to take it to to get it worked on since i lost the paper work. Is this something that can be remedied? Dan

    JVC service or questions

     Unknown Posted Jun 10, 2007

this is from the JVC site: Contact them according to the info below. CCD Program for This Model - GR-D90US JVC has received reports that in certain circumstances, this model may, while in the camera mode, show no picture, a distorted picture and/or display “LENS CAP” even though the lens cap is removed. We have identified the probable cause as a failure of the CCD image sensor. Until October 1, 2007, repairs of units exhibiting these problems as a result of a defect in the CCD image sensor will be made free of charge at JVC Factory Service Centers. Click this Repair Request link to download a Repair Request Form and find your nearest location. Please call our Customer Care Center at (800) 858-6442 if you encounter any problems in obtaining a free repair. We apologize for any inconvenience and are appreciative of your understanding and support.
