I had the same problem yesterday w/ my dcr-trv22, a handy gear I use exclusively for capturing my video projects. I've been using it for almost 4yrs and it works well. Then this error message came. I thought it's because of dirty head, so I put the head cleaning tape, but the camera won't play and gave the same message! Thank God and cheers to this thread. I slapped the camera, dropped it twice unto my SOFT CUSHION bed from a height of 10-INCHES. Crazy, but it worked! May have worked for me, but you do it at your own risk though. I have several video cams, so I can spare breaking this one.
