Ken Czys - 11th Apr 2004 23:24 My CCD-F70 records yet the counter and 'REC" in the viewfinder jiggle. On playback the picture is a mess but I hear faint audio in playback. This camera was working when it was shipped to me in New Zealand from San Francisco. It was packed loosely with battery. It sounds like it is a tracking problem and I don't know how to adjust the tracking. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

HELLO YES SURE SOUNDS LIKE TRACKING IS OFF .VERY COMMON ON THIS MECHANISM.UNFORTUNALLY THE UNIT WILL HAVE TO BE DISMANTELED TO ADJUST (T)GUIDE.ONCE TIGHTENED I RECOMMEND ADDING LOCTITE TO SCREWS ON GUIDE.GOODLUCK..CMELCHOR

Ken Czys - 16th Apr 2004 0:11 Cris, thanks for the fast response. But how do I adjust the (T)Guide? And how far do I dismantel the unit? I have an identical unit with a dead motor. Would it be easier switching motors or fix the tracking? I've adjusted tracking on VCRs but never on something this small. Can I obtain a drawing of the proceedure somewhere?

I have a Sony CCDF70 video camera and when I power it up, all I get is a lighted flickering screen but cannot focus, record, edit or do anything. The recording tape seems to work and it is not a power problem it seems to be some sort of internal bug-a-boo. Any suggestions?

Hello.... Have same model...It's getting old now... Had same problem...Had it serviced...Flickering on playback... Think it was playback heads out of alignment....If you have had problem corrected please let me know of what your problem was and outcome..Thanks Graham

Cris, Would you have a diagram for the back panel of a Sony SVO-960 VCR showing the pins necessary to make my own remote control for the 34 pin connector? I can email you a fax # or it could be emailed to me. Thanks! Bob

Spyder - 13th May 2004 21:26 Hi Bob,
Do you still need the "34 pin"
PINOUTS for the svo 960? If so I can get them to you on the weekend.

I have a SOny 8AF with the AC pack ACP-80UC battery charger. The camera works using the adapter and I can use it as long as there is an AC outlet around. The camera also came with two batteries and the recharger pack - but when I try and charge the batteries these things happen : 1) The recharger pack emmits a ticking sound when only one side is open - with the adapter plugged in. The ticking is loud. 2) This sound goes away when I open the units other side (exposing the two extra slos) 3) One of the batteries looks like it is charging. After 8 hours of charging, it still did not power the camera. 4) The other battery (when the unit is only exposing one open battery slot) when inserted causes the recharging again to emit a loud ticking sound that slowly peeters out (the light flashes in tandem) and then the light goes out. 5) The other battery does nothing to the unit when inserted. The charge light goes out and does not do anything even after 30 minutes. This is alot, but if anyone has similiar problems, please let me know. I don't why to buy a new battery and find out that the RECHARGE unit is the culprit. Thanks PS - is there a way of checking is the RECHARGE unit is functioning properly?
- Re: Re: SONY ORIGINAL PARTS
Barbara - 8th Dec 2004 2:42 This is very similar to a problem just developed with my Sony HC-30. The battery unit is causing a ticking sound and will not recharge. It's not in a recharging unit, it's in the camera itself. When the battery is out of the camera, the ticking stops. The recharger will operate the camera, but seems not to be able to recharge the battery. Did you ever get any further information about your problem?

Oguz - 7th Jul 2005 4:34 Hi
I have the same problem also.
When i try to charge the battery, first the yellow charge light goes on. After 3-4 mins, light goes off and a ticking sound comes from inside the camera. And also the memory stick light goes on and off, like the camera turns on and off itself.
But in this 3-4 mins the battery charges a little.
Anybody solved that problem?
Thanks.

I had the same problem. No parts to replace. I have cleaned gently (very VERY gently!) laser emitting diode with a piece of very soft handkerchiev. In order to do it I had to dismount some parts of case. May be you have the same problem.
Good luck.

some of these parts are still available but unfortunally.by the time you buy all parts needed like, commander cable, hidaway control unit, remote commander, disc magazine,etc..you will be spending pretty close as buying complete new one.try visiting partsolver.com to get an idea on parts price..regards.
