    Dear Stacy,
Can you tell me if all JVC professional viewfinders (including old ones) are interchangeable - same plugs, same voltages, etc.? I have bought a camera without a viewfinder and I don't know which models will fit it. Thanks.

Hi Stacy. I have an MX-G500 compact stereo/3disc changer. We bought it new about 3 yrs. ago and it worked great until recently. It always played cd's including cdr's just fine, but lately it will begin skipping and eventually just stop playing cdr's about half way through a cd. Once this begins it will not even read the cd when you try to reload it! Sometimes it will have problems with a cdr right from the start even when the unit hasn't been in use for a while. I've tried using a cd lense cleaner and it seemed to help the first time but not now. The frustrating part is that it's having problems with cd's now that it never had a problems with before, and they're very clean - no scratches. PLEASE HELP!! Thanx in advance.

I have a JVC Camcorder GR-SXM920. I turned it on the other day and it came up with an E02 error. I did some research and found that this error meant that the device wasn't in the eject position. The video footage on the tape is very precious to me so I decided to take the camera apart to get the tape out and in doing so broke a ribbon cable.

Mainly what I'm needing to know is if there is anywhere I can purchase replacement parts such as this along with a service manual/schematic book?

With the low cost for a new camera, I don't think it's worth taking to get repaired.

Hi, i have the JVC AV-32230 TV, lost the remote long time ago.
Was setting up my system after we moved it, now the following happens: The dvd player (using the r/g/b 3 way cable, dont know name) is directly connected to the tv. tv input set to input 2 (which should be the rgb). picture appears for 1/4 of a second, then blue screen. sound of dvd comes, no picture. when i change input further to 3, again for a split second the dvd picture appears, then blue screen.
    plz advise

  • Re: JVC- VTR WARNING (HARD) problem Greg Marceau - 8th Mar 2005 16:35
I did get this "VTR WARNING (HARD)" message on a JVC GY-DV300 that was purchased in 9/2002. Followed by this warning came a long numeric code. I replicated the problem twice and two different numeric codes came up. I can send picts of the viewfinder message.

We followed the manual's directions to remedy this, didn't work. I got the tape out and it went away. Put the tape back in and I got this problem again.

So now what? Ship out for repair?

    Hi,
I have a digital camcorder GR-D72u displaying error E03. Had it for less than 4 months. Two weeks ago I wanted to record, and when turning on gave the "E03 error: Unit in Safeguard Mode, Eject and Re-insert tape." #1 I tried that, but still get the same error. I emailed JVC. #2 They suggested removing the battery for one minute. Still same error. #3 I tried a fresh tape, the error went away for one day, but next day back to same error. My guess (but I prefer a technical information) is that it must doing something (damaging) the tapes; that triggers the error. Unfortunately, I ran out of labor warranty. Any help/suggestion would be welcomed. Thanks.

    • Re[2]: JVC service or questions Gary - 25th Mar 2005 2:31
I have had the same problem with an older JVC camcorder. Fixing it is usually more expensive than the camera is worth. Though out of warranty only 4 months, JVC said they would give me free parts but I would have to pay for labor. Labor costs were $140!!! The camera new cost $400 and a new replacement (whatever replaced it) would be $300. So I ditched the camera and bought the next model up on eBay for $112. I suggest you do the same, and never buy another new JVC camera again. Gary
