Terri - 23rd Jan 2007 5:54 Hello,
I am hoping that you can help me figure out what is wrong with this TV. It is a JVC AV-36890. The first symptom was that the TV would shut itself off for no apparent reason. Now the TV will not power up at all. I have replaced the 1000uf35w because by reading the other problems with JVC tv's I thought that it might have been bad. I'm not completely positive that it is installed properly, but I'm pretty sure. I also installed a 1000uf 50w not the 35w. If there is anything else that you think I can try I would sincerely appreciate it!
Terri

JB38 - 23rd Jan 2007 13:52 In order to give the appropriate answer to your question it would be of great assistance if you at least gave the model number of the device you are referring to.

Piergiorgio Olearo - 23rd Jan 2007 16:13 I post the same question already sent on the mail.
I have the same trouble read on the forum : the PROTECT message does not allow any playing since it appeared on display.
My serial no. is:

Please could you answer me about the solution ?
Thank you very much for a reply.

JB38 - 23rd Jan 2007 21:49 Giving the serial number might be of assistance if it was accompanied by what the device model number is that you are referring to.

donald - 24th Jan 2007 5:37 I have a JVC GR-D90U Camcoder, and I had it for years but after not using it for a while maybe 6 months. The screen was blue when I turned it on for the first time and it seemed like nothing wasn't working but I could record, but it was turning out blue. Everything turned blue, I couldn't even watch previously recorded video, because the screen on it was blue.

nikolce - 24th Jan 2007 10:23 The DV exit of my camcorder GR-D250EW is not functionate from the first day. I bought it in US but I live in Macedonia where JVC service does not exist. That why I need service manuel for this model. Thanks a lot, Nikolce.

Hi. We have a JVC GR-SXM250. We've had it about two years - bought it new. We have used it very little and so usually the battery was dead. It's always worked fine though, until one day I started to recharge the battery.
The camera would not light up - I have removed and replaced the tape cartridge, the battery and checked the power supply with my vom - which showed a charge.
the camera will not light up at all - no matter what i do. I haven't taken it apart because I don't know what i'd be looking for - other than a broken wire.
We have barely used this and would love to get it working again.
We know that high prices are charged for repairs so we can't do that and are just doing without right now.
can you give us some ideas on what the problem might be and how much jvc would charge to repair it.
We paid about $250.00 for it.
Thanks much. John Hansen

I have a JVC GR-DV800U mini dv camera. I don't have an owners manual and am having trouble getting any of the buttons to work so that I can do things such as set the time and date, adjust focus, or get into the menu. Is there something wrong with it or am I just doing something wrong?
Thank you Greg
